Time Inc. Names Kevin Martinez Vice President, Group Sales Director, Fashion, With Oversight of InStyle and StyleWatch

Aug 15, 2016

(NEW YORK, NY August 15, 2016) — Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) has named Kevin Martinez Vice President, Group Sales Director, InStyle and StyleWatch. Martinez, who most recently served as Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer of Maxim, reports to Ron King, Senior Vice President, Fashion, Multicultural and Shelter of Time Inc. Martinez succeeds Patrick Connors who has decided to leave the company to pursue new opportunities. Connors’ last day is August 24.

“Kevin's access, relationships and industry knowledge are unparalleled. As we continue to extend our commitment to fashion and the InStyle and StyleWatch brands, I couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Kevin’s partnership. With seasoned experience, Kevin knows the fashion business inside and out,” said King. “I want to thank Patrick for his leadership and hard work. He has accomplished a great deal for InStyle.”

Martinez commented, “I am excited to join Ron and his team as we grow the endemic fashion business at the iconic InStyle and StyleWatch. I’m also delighted to become a part of the Time Inc. family during this transformative time.”

InStyle serves the largest circulation, at the highest subscription price paid, and has consistently led the competitive set as the #1 newsstand seller for 18 consecutive years, according to AAM 2H, 2015 Publisher Reports. InStyle also inspires consumers to take action. Each reader purchases seven advertised items per issue on average, more than the readers of any competitor, per a 2016 InStyle Retail Study.

Martinez has increased the fashion business across various marquee brands for more than two decades. Before his tenure at Maxim, he served as publisher of Details where he was responsible for one of the fastest turnarounds in Condé Nast history. Prior to Details, he was publisher of ELLE and served in other senior roles at Harper's BAZAAR, Esquire and The New York Times, among other brands.

"I am extremely proud of the extraordinary work of the entire team and the great progress we have made in developing InStyle's business across multiple platforms with the successful launches of the InStyle Collection and the InStyle Awards," said Connors. “This decision allows me to leverage my passion, experience and history for creating innovative and dynamic executions to work more closely with brands as the look to navigate the ever-changing media landscape.”
