Erik Moreno Appointed Executive Vice President of Business Development at Time Inc.

New York, NY (September 16, 2015) – Time Inc. (NYSE: TIME) CEO Joe Ripp today named Erik Moreno to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Business Development. Moreno joins the company from Fox Networks Group, a unit of 21st Century Fox, where he was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development. Moreno will report to Ripp, beginning Monday, September 21

As Senior Vice President of Corporate Development of Fox Networks Group, Moreno identified new business and strategic opportunities and worked on the company’s acquisitions and joint ventures. During the past five years, Moreno also served as co-General Manager of Mobile Content Venture, and he led 21st Century Fox’s efforts ahead of the FCC’s upcoming spectrum auction and other digital initiatives. Previously, Moreno was Director of Corporate Development for eBay Inc. and was Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy for Level 3 Communications Ltd., a global wholesale telecommunications company. He began his career at Gleacher & Co., a boutique investment bank specializing in mergers and acquisitions.

 

Moreno is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Trustee of USA Funds, an education-focused nonprofit organization that aims to provide access for students seeking higher education.

 

Over the past couple of months, Time Inc. has been extending the power of its brands through various investments and acquisitions. It formed Sports Illustrated Play, a new company devoted to youth and amateur sports, and acquired inVNT, a company that specializes in live media. In August, Time Inc. UK made a strategic investment in Snap Fashion, a visual search business specializing in fashion.
