Aug 24, 2015

New York, NY (August 24, 2015) – Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) today announced the hire of Michael Erlinger to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs for Television and Video. Erlinger, most recently with GroupM as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs at GroupM Entertainment NA and Global Head of Business Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer at ESP Properties, will oversee all deal making for television and video for Time Inc. and spearhead the development of business models for Time Inc.’s video expansion. Erlinger reports to Lon Jacobs, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective immediately.

“A seasoned veteran in the entertainment and media industry, Michael has a deep understanding and knowledge of the digital and broadcast space. He will be a tremendous asset to us as we extend our premium content and engaged audiences into this vital space,” said Jacobs.

At GroupM, Erlinger oversaw business and legal aspects of branded entertainment projects, television and digital programs being financed by GroupM Entertainment NA and ESP Properties’ consulting relationships with rights holders, including negotiation of content financing and co-development agreements and other collaborative deals. Prior to that, Erlinger was at Embassy Row, where he oversaw business and legal aspects of all the company’s projects in television, digital and feature film, including negotiation of development, talent, license and distribution deals. Previously, he worked at ABC Entertainment Television Group.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the team driving the expansion of Time Inc.’s television and video business. It’s an exciting opportunity to put my skills and experience to work in an area of such focus and tremendous growth potential for the company,” said Erlinger.

Erlinger’s appointment reinforces Time Inc.’s strong commitment to the video business. During the past year, the company’s videos have generated more than 1 billion views. Time Inc. is on pace to deliver more than 10,000 videos combined across its portfolio by the end of 2015. The production of its first film project with Rampante, New Orleans Here and Now, is a docu-series featuring real stories from people living in post-Katrina New Orleans and timed to mark the 10th anniversary of hurricane Katrina. Time Inc. will triple its overall production capacity and double the amount of simultaneous live programming at new studios when it moves into its new lower Manhattan headquarters later this year.
