Patrick J. Connors Named Publisher of InStyle

Aug 20, 2015

NEW YORK, August 20, 2015 – Patrick J. Connors has been named Publisher of InStyle, it was announced today by Evelyn Webster, EVP, Time Inc. Connors will be responsible for leading sales and marketing efforts across all platforms, in addition to developing new growth opportunities and revenue streams in partnership with Editorial Director Ariel Foxman.

Connors joins Time Inc. from Men’s Fitness, where he served as SVP, Publisher since 2012. Previously, he held roles as the Associate Publisher at Glamour, Associate Publisher at Details and Executive Beauty Director at Lucky.

As Publisher of Men’s Fitness, Connors quadrupled profitability of the brand within his first 16 months on the job. He went on to grow the digital business by 150%, now accounting for more than 40% of total brand revenue. Working closely with Editor David Zinczenko, he re-launched Men’s Fitness as a lifestyle brand in June 2013 to record-breaking revenue growth. That year, the brand was recognized on the Advertising Age A List and Adweek Hot List. During his tenure, more than 120 new advertisers have joined the brand across print and digital.

“Patrick is accomplished, driven and passionate and will be an incredible partner to Ariel Foxman, as they capitalize on our recent digital success and brand expansion at InStyle,” said Webster. “He has a proven track record of delivering advertising solutions across fashion, beauty, retail, automotive and lifestyle, making him the ideal fit for the brand.”

Under Foxman, InStyle has become the leading fashion media brand, reaching more than 23 million consumers across platforms. Digitally, it has achieved 97% YOY growth, with July setting record-breaking numbers on both mobile and desktop unique visitors. InStyle leads the category with the highest subscription price, the largest audience of affluent women and the strongest newsstand sales. It was named Fashion Media Brand of the Year by The Daily Front Row in 2015. Foxman has served as editor since 2008 and earlier this year was promoted to Editorial Director of InStyle and People StyleWatch.

Connors’ first day is August 26. With his appointment, Departures SVP, Publisher Steven DeLuca, who has been acting as interim publisher at InStyle, returns full time to Departures.

Connors holds a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and lives in New York.
