Anja Schmidt Named Editorial Director of Oxmoor House, Division of Time Home Entertainment, Inc.

NEW YORK, February 27, 2015 – Anja Schmidt has been named Editorial Director of Oxmoor House, an imprint of Time Home Entertainment, Inc., the book and bookazine publishing division of Time Inc., effective March 2, 2015.

 

Schmidt will report to Margot Schupf, Publisher of Time Home Entertainment, and reporting into her will be the Editorial, Test Kitchen, and Creative teams at Oxmoor House.

 

Most recently Schmidt was US Publisher at Kyle Books where she built a list of cookbooks by American authors, which were in turn published and promoted into the UK market. Also during her time at Kyle Books, Schmidt acquired and edited such highly acclaimed cookbook titles as Healthy Latin Eating by Angie Martinez & Angelo Sosa, Jamie Deen’s Good Food, Simply Ming One-Pot Meals by Ming Tsai, and Olives, Lemons & Za’atar by Rawia Bishara. She also oversaw the Americanization and US publication of such notable UK authors as Darina Allen, Clodagh McKenna, Daniel Green and Maria Elia, and bestselling titles like The Meat Free Monday Cookbook and Share: The Cookbook that Celebrates Our Common Humanity.

 

Prior to her time at Kyle Books, Schmidt was Executive Editor at DK, where she worked on such high-profile cookbooks as the IACP Award winner and James Beard Award finalist Morimoto, and the IACP Award finalist The Modern Baker by Nick Malgieri. She previously worked at Simon & Schuster—with New York Times best-selling authors President Jimmy Carter, Bob Woodward, and Stephen E. Ambrose—and HarperCollins.
