Meeta Agrawal Named Deputy Editor, at Time Inc.’s ‘Entertainment Weekly’

NEW YORK, March 12, 2015 – Meeta Agrawal has been named Deputy Editor at Entertainment Weekly, it was announced today by Henry Goldblatt, Editor of Entertainment Weekly. Agrawal is being promoted from Executive Editor, a position she has held since April 2014. In her new role, Agrawal will provide editorial oversight for Entertainment Weekly and will continue to work closely with the digital team to oversee cross-platform initiatives. In addition, she will spearhead collaborations with EW’s advertising sales and marketing teams to help grow business and take the lead on creating new brand extensions.

 

“The caliber of EW’s TV coverage is a testament to Meeta’s wide-ranging connections and her personal passions. I can think of no one more qualified for the job or whom I’d rather have at my side; Meeta lives and breathes the brand” commented Goldblatt.

 

Previously, Agrawal oversaw EW’s TV department and collaborated with the brand’s video and digital teams to expand television coverage across all platforms. She has also managed EW Radio, the brand’s channel on SiriusXM. Prior to joining EW in 2007, Agrawal was staff editor at Life Magazine.

 

Goldblatt also announced the following editorial hires at Entertainment Weekly:

 

Gillian Telling has been named Senior Editor, TV and will begin March 16. Telling joins EW from PEOPLE where she has served as staff editor since 2013. Previously, she was editor-in-chief of Budget Travel and has contributed to several publications including Maxim, The Observer (UK), Details and Rolling Stone. In 2010, Telling published the novel, Dirty Girls: The Naked Truth About Our Dirty Secrets. In her new role, Telling will edit features and packages for EW.

 

Gina McIntyre will join as News Director (Movies) based in EW’s L.A. bureau. McIntyre will edit the News & Notes section of the magazine, film features, and oversee movie news coverage across all platforms. A seven year veteran of the Los Angeles Times, McIntyre is currently the editor and lead writer for the popular Hero Complex website. In addition, she has written for the LA Times Calendar section on a variety of big event movies and served as pop music editor. Previously, she was managing editor for features at The Hollywood Reporter.
