Jan 15, 2015

New York, NY – January 15, 2015 – Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) today announced the launch of Daily Cut, a new video platform that offers consumers one destination for Time Inc. live and on-demand original video content as well as a library of more than 35,000 videos—more than 1,500 hours of premium video programming—from Time Inc. brands. Daily Cut is available this week as a native app on iOS, Android and the Roku platform as well as www.dailycut.com, a responsive website.

“Video has become a key component in Time Inc.’s digital growth. With Daily Cut, we are marrying our premium video content from trusted brands with a sleek, intuitive, multi-screen experience,” said J.R. McCabe, Time Inc. Senior Vice President of Video. “As audiences increasingly consume video across devices, advertisers are following suit and we can now offer them a highly compelling lean-back experience to our range of video channels and extensions.”

Time Inc. currently produces more than 60 programs of varying types—short form, long form, signature documentary series, live and on demand—across its U.S. portfolio that will now be featured on Daily Cut. There, users can create customized playlists, browse by content vertical, trending topics or editor recommendations from an array of genres, including sports, news, entertainment, lifestyle, food, fashion, beauty and technology and original series. Further, live daily programming such as SI Now and PEOPLE Now, red carpet and event coverage and breaking news will be promoted in real time on Daily Cut with familiar faces from Time Inc.’s video portfolio anchoring curated guides to what is new and trending.

Developed in-house with consumer habits and engagement in mind, Daily Cut’s patent pending “continuous viewing” feature allows users to view programming while simultaneously browsing additional videos. Replete throughout the experience is the ability to share content through social streams while email and push notifications drive tune-in for featured and favorite content, live events and news.
