Time Inc. Announces Launch of German Edition of ‘PEOPLE’ with Bauer Media Group

Germany Added to Licensed Editions of ‘PEOPLE’ Published in Greece and Australia

NEW YORK, November 17, 2014 – Time Inc.’s PEOPLE, the top magazine media brand in the United States, announces the launch of a licensed German edition of PEOPLE by Bauer Media Group, scheduled for 2015. Bauer, the international media house operating with a global reach, is intensifying its consistent strategy of investing in top-quality premium magazines with this new agreement with PEOPLE. Germany is the latest internationally licensed edition of PEOPLE, which is also published in Greece and Australia (where it is published as WHO).

 

The PEOPLE brand has a global audience of 59 million consumers, with 3.5 million weekly subscribers in the US (source: ABC Publisher’s Statement 1H14). The iconic PEOPLE, which is a blend of celebrity news and entertainment, as well as human interest and “everyday heroes” stories, is well-known internationally for its Sexiest Man Alive and 50 Most Beautiful franchise issues. PEOPLE recently celebrated its 40-year anniversary with Jess Cagle as Editorial Director. Tom Junkersdorf is the Editor-in-Chief of the licensed German edition of PEOPLE.
