Time Inc.’s Travel + Leisure Announces New Travel Guides And Travel Guide App As Brand Expands Suite Of Consumer Offerings

Editor-Curated Guides to 46 Global Destinations Including Select Top-Rated Cities from the Just-Released World’s Best Awards Survey 2016

NEW YORK, NY (July 7, 2016) — Time Inc.’s (NYSE: TIME) Travel + Leisure announces the newly relaunched digital Travel + Leisure Travel Guides and the debut of the Travel Guide mobile app as part of its growing portfolio of products aimed at offering travelers tools and resources for every step of their trip, from planning and booking to the journey itself. The guides—whether online or within the app—will serve travelers as they research and plan their trips. The app is tailor-made for travelers who are on the go and want easy access to Travel + Leisure’s expert editorial advice when they’re on the ground in the world’s top destinations.

With guides to 46 places available at launch, the Travel + Leisure Travel Guide app will continue to add destinations and update content on an ongoing basis. Many of the highest-ranked cities in the just-announced World’s Best Awards 2016 readers’ survey, such as Charleston, San Miguel de Allende, Florence, New Orleans and Barcelona, are among the featured destinations. The Travel + Leisure Travel Guides and Travel Guide app are curated by Travel + Leisure editors with insights from a network of local correspondents. The guides highlight selections of the very best hotels, restaurants, shops, bars, and things to do in the world's most exciting destinations, and they include travel information such as the best times to visit, insider finds, and travel tips.

A standout feature of the app is that it allows users to create custom itineraries, enabling them to plan every aspect of their days in each location using T+L’s curated recommendations. And once users have selected the places they want to visit—hotels, restaurants, shops, bars and attractions—the app will map them out so users won’t waste time figuring out how to get from point A to point B. The guides in the app are downloadable to users’ devices (Android and iOS), with offline maps making them accessible without cellular service or wifi.

New travel guide destinations will continue to be added both online and within the app, and the guides will be updated with new content as notable hotels, restaurants and other attractions open. Within the app, users can opt-in for updates on changes or additions to city guides, and they can also choose to be notified when they arrive in a city for which there is a Travel + Leisure destination guide.
