Jun 9, 2016

NEW YORK, NY (June 9, 2016) — Time Inc. Books and Sports Illustrated will release a new Muhammad Ali tribute book, Muhammad Ali: The Tribute, that will go on sale Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

This commemorative hardcover edition celebrates the life of a legend. And Ali having been Sports Illustrated’s most photographed and written-about subject, the book is overflowing with 304 pages of its signature photography and extraordinary stories of the rise of Cassius Clay from Louisville, Kentucky, to becoming the world-renowned Muhammad Ali.

Muhammad Ali: The Tribute chronicles Ali’s unlikely transformation from Louisville Golden Gloves winner to Olympic gold medalist to three-time heavyweight champion. It also examines his contributions as a civil rights hero and later as an elder statesman. From taking the crown from Sonny Liston to his rivalry with Joe Frazier, all the iconic Ali moments are here and are captured by the writers and photographers who were there with him and his entourage.

Including an exclusive gatefold that features stats and images from each of his classic bouts, Muhammad Ali: The Tribute will stand as an ultimate collector’s edition memorializing the life and career of a legendary man, athlete, champion and leader.

Kostya Kennedy, former Senior Writer and Assistant Managing Editor at Sports Illustrated for 20 years and now Editorial Director at Time Inc. Books, is available for interviews.
