“From the sporting to the societal aspects of the weekend, the Derby represents exactly what we at Southern Living strive to do every day—celebrate the best of life in the South. We couldn’t be more excited and honored to design such a beautiful garden at the historic Churchill Downs,” said Southern Living Publisher Greg Schumann.

The Southern Living Garden at Kentucky Derby Museum will be located outside the museum, which attracts nearly 200,000 visitors each year. 

All of the plantings are from The Southern Living Plant Collection and will be displayed in hand-crafted limestone urns donated by Longshadow Classic Garden Ornaments. The garden will feature blue, silver, and white hydrangeas, offset by red and pink mandevillas for pops of color. A mix of shrubs and perennials from The Southern Living Plant Collection complete the design.
