Lori Leibovich Named Editor of RealSimple.com

New York, April 4, 2014 – Lori Leibovich was named editor of RealSimple.com, it was announced today by Real Simple Editor Kristin van Ogtrop. In her new role, Lori will be responsible for Real Simple’s digital content, including ongoing product development and growing the award-winning lifestyle brand’s daily website. Leibovich begins her new position on May 5 and will report to van Ogtrop.

Leibovich joins Real Simple from The Huffington Post where she served as executive lifestyle editor. During her three years at Huffington Post, she oversaw lifestyle coverage and content creation across 13 sites, developed strategies for social media and video, and launched five new verticals, including HuffPost Women and HuffPost Parents.

Prior to joining Huffington Post, Leibovich worked on some of the most high-profile media launches, including Salon.com, one of the first national online magazines. As the lifestyle editor at Salon, she introduced one of the web’s first women’s news blogs, Broadsheet. She was also part of the launch team of Talk magazine and was an editor at Cookie, Teen People, and Babble. She has written widely for publications including The New York Times and the Washington Post and edited the acclaimed anthology Maybe Baby (HarperCollins). Leibovich appears often on national television and has been a panel moderator at conferences including SXSW, BlogHer, and TedX Women.

Real Simple had more than 9 million uniques in February and the brand recently reached 1 million fans on Facebook.
