(NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 29, 2017)—Time Inc. (NYSE:TIME) is launching the first-ever FORTUNE Brainstorm Tech International event, FORTUNE President and Time Inc. Chief Content Officer Alan Murray announced today. The inaugural event will take place in Guangzhou, China, on December 5 and 6, 2017.

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) is Brainstorm Tech International’s presenting partner sponsor, as well as the event’s official automotive sponsor. An official signing ceremony for the sponsorship took place today at the Guangzhou City Government Office.

The new event is an extension of FORTUNE's annual Brainstorm Tech conference, which brings together leaders from FORTUNE 500 companies, some of the top emerging entrepreneurs of the tech world, and important investors. Brainstorm Tech International coincides with the 2017 FORTUNE Global Forum, which will gather CEOs of the world’s biggest multinational companies – the FORTUNE Global 500 - and top leaders from China and beyond on December 6 to 8 in Guangzhou at a separate location.

FORTUNE Brainstorm Tech International will bring together some of China’s most promising start-up companies and emerging technology leaders. The program will feature innovators in China who are finding new pathways to success, as well as tech leaders from around the world, including Silicon Valley, Israel, Europe and other parts of Asia. The event will also showcase the inaugural FORTUNE China Innovation Awards.

Brainstorm Tech International is expected to be an ongoing annual showcase for innovation in China and the major trends in technology on a global basis, as well as an opportunity to build a global and China-based community of tech and innovation leaders.

Speakers, programming for the invitation-only conference, as well as more information on the FORTUNE China Innovation awards, will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2017 FORTUNE Brainstorm Tech will take place in Aspen, Colo. July 17-19.
