(NEW YORK, NY, MAY 18, 2017)—Time Inc.’s (NYSE:TIME) Sports Illustrated Play has been named the Official Technology Partner of the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), it was announced today. SI Play— an industry leader in youth sports technology platforms and services — will supply its suite of tools to the AABC and its 240,000 members in a wide-ranging technology and development partnership. As both parties strive to enhance and grow youth sports, SI Play and AABC will also collaborate to develop new resources and programs that make the experience of playing baseball more accessible and rewarding for the community.

As part of the alliance, SI Play will work with the AABC to upgrade its entire digital infrastructure. This includes powering a customized, state-of-the-art league and team registration system, as well as giving a complete reboot of the league’s website. Further, SI Play’s Tourney Machine— the premier tournament management system in youth sports— will organize, schedule and manage every AABC sanctioned tournament, including the prestigious AABC World Series, for all 12 age divisions.

ABOUT THE AMERICAN AMATEUR BASEBALL COMMITTEE 
AABC is based in Farmington, New Mexico and has been organizing amateur baseball since it was founded in Chicago in March 1935. Its first national tournament was held in Dayton, Ohio in September that year, when only 10 states were a part of the organization. Today, 240,000 plus players from 42 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Canada play in the AABC. Approximately 112,000 of them are in their teen, making it one of the largest amateur baseball organizations in the United States for players in that age range. AABC conducts state, regional and national competition in 12 age divisions. AABC believes in local autonomy by allowing organization to have their own local rules through the state levels. They can bat as many players as they want, have time limits, re-entry, and inning limits to meet local conditions. When post season arrives, all teams and tournaments must then conform to national rules. AABC has one of the largest contingents of Major League players, and annually selects their graduate of the year. Annual recipients have included Ron Cey, Don Sutton, Rick Burleson, Eddie Murray, Ozzie Smith, Ken Griffey, Jr., Derek Jeter, Mark Mulder, Roy Holliday, and many others.
