Time Inc. Appoints John Marcom Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Time Inc. International

(NEW YORK, NY, January 25, 2016)—Time Inc. (NYSE: TIME) today announced the hire of John Marcom to the role of Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for Time Inc. International. Marcom, who will oversee the overall strategy for Time Inc. International, new media expansion, multi-platform product development working with Time Inc. editors, marketing communications and mergers and acquisitions, will report to Steve Marcopoto, President, Time Inc. International, effective immediately.

International,” said Marcopoto.

Marcom rejoins Time Inc. having most recently served as co-founder of Media BBQ, a consulting boutique supporting underserved creative professionals and niche retailers with digital media experiences. Prior to that, Marcom was President at Future US, where he developed new sources of digital revenue growth. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer at AdGent Digital and Senior Vice President of International Operations at Yahoo! Inc. Marcom held a variety of roles at Time Inc. in the ‘90s including Publisher of the Asian edition of Time and Business Development Director for Asia.

During the past couple of months, Time Inc. has been extending the scope and adjacent activities of its brands globally. It recently announced the international expansion of the highly acclaimed Essence Festival franchise, launching a three-year partnership with eThekwini Municipality to host the Essence Festival in Durban, South Africa. Time Inc. launched a US bespoke edition of Wallpaper*, the world’s most important design and style brand. Time Inc. UK acquired UK Cycling Events (UKCE), a leading UK provider of premium cycling events, and made a strategic investment in Snap Fashion, a visual search business specializing in fashion.
