Real Simple Expands Its Digital Weddings Presence with the Launch of a New Weddings Channel on RealSimple.com

The Leading Women’s Lifestyle Brand Partners with Influential Wedding Network Lover.ly to Expand Its Content and Advertising Offerings

Jan 29, 2012

NEW YORK, January 29, 2012 – Real Simple is increasing its wedding footprint with the launch of a dedicated Weddings channel on RealSimple.com today. This new permanent homepage navigation channel will include wedding day checklists, gift ideas, décor, hairstyle inspiration, and a wedding planning boot camp to organize the process. It will be updated daily with fresh editorial content.

“Brides are increasingly turning online to plan their weddings,” says Real Simple Managing Editor Kristin van Ogtrop. “Real Simple will help make the often stressful process easier with heavily-curated, smart, creative and beautiful inspiration.”

The brand has been covering weddings since 2009 when it debuted a stand-alone planazine, Real Simple Weddings. Additionally, wedding searches regularly rank in the top five on RealSimple.com.

As part of the partnership with Lover.ly, a first of its kind wedding search engine, RealSimple.com will have access to the freshest bridal content from Lover.ly’s network of sites, represent Lover.ly’s advertising inventory, and syndicate content on the Real Simple website. Lover.ly’s robust content network is comprised of 30+ premium wedding blogs, offering Real Simple an extended bridal audience and curated content.

“Weddings have long been an incredibly popular search driver for us. Clearly, the audience is already there, and looking to us for our advice,” says RealSimple.com General Manager Shannon King. “The partnership with Lover.ly will allow us to deliver even more great content for our readers, with added benefits to our advertising partners.”

“We are beyond thrilled about this partnership,” says Kellee Kahlil, founder of Lover.ly. “Real Simple has always been one of my favorite lifestyle brands, and it’s refreshing to see such a major media player collaborating with a startup to bring innovation at scale to the bridal industry.”

At launch, the RealSimple.com Weddings channel offers extensive new weddings features, including its new “The First 5 Steps” column, “100 Ways to Simplify Your Wedding”, china trends, stationery ideas, shower themes, “Daily Wedding Finds”, etiquette questions, engagement rings and more. The site will also launch a new e-newsletter, “Kick Start Your Wedding Planning”.

Real Simple has had great success delivering products beyond the core magazine, with its annual special issue, Real Simple Family, a line of branded products at Bed, Bath & Beyond, books, and several mobile apps.
