Time Inc. Appoints Nina Lawrence Publisher of InStyle

Nov 18, 2014

NEW YORK, November 18, 2014 – Time Inc. today appointed Nina Lawrence Publisher of InStyle. Lawrence will be responsible for leading integrated sales and marketing efforts across all platforms, in addition to developing new growth opportunities and revenue streams in partnership with Editor Ariel Foxman. She will report to Time Inc. Executive Vice President, Evelyn Webster. Lawrence succeeds Karin Tracy who is leaving the company.

Lawrence joins Time Inc. after serving as Vice President of Global Marketing, Advertising Sales for The Wall Street Journal. Overseeing a staff of one hundred and a portfolio of more than twenty products, Lawrence led client-focused marketing and business development efforts globally for newspapers, magazines, websites, mobile devices, video and live events. She also led WSJ Custom Studios, an in-house ad agency, and created and launched Narratives, the Journal’s first native product. Previously, she spent more than 15 years as a publisher at Condé Nast, including her last seven as Vice President and Publisher of W. Among her accomplishments at W, Lawrence played an instrumental role in the 2010 relaunch of the brand—integrating print and digital sales efforts, driving record advertising gains and initiating new revenue streams.

“Nina is an impressive marketer with deep industry relationships and expertise in managing the complexities of the rapidly shifting media landscape,” commented Webster. “With a strong track record in delivering integrated solutions to advertisers and generating new business opportunities to leverage brand equity, Nina is the perfect person to join Ariel Foxman in further expanding the InStyle franchise, as its transformation into a vibrant and diversified business continues.”

“Across all platforms, InStyle has earned the trust of millions of stylish, confident, achieving women,” commented Lawrence. “It’s my job to creatively work with marketers to help them connect with—and benefit from—the purchasing power of these highly-engaged consumers. I look forward to it.”

During her tenure at Condé Nast, Lawrence’s roles included Vice President and Publisher of the Bridal Group and Vice President and Publisher of Mademoiselle. Earlier, Lawrence worked for The Walt Disney Company as Publisher of Disney Adventures, for PriMedia as Publisher of Modern Bride, and for Hearst Publications as Advertising Director of its custom publishing business. She began her advertising sales career at Time Inc.’s TIME magazine.
