MEREDITH BROADCASTING GROUP TAPS LARENCE OAKS AS VICE PRESIDENT OF TECHNOLOGY

Des Moines, IA (November 12, 2008) - Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP) today hired Larence K. Oaks to serve as Vice President of Technology for the Meredith Broadcasting Group. Oaks will oversee all technical operations for Meredith’s 12 television stations.

"Larry possesses a great blend of extensive technical skills and industry knowledge that will help us become a more efficient and profitable business in this constantly changing industry," said Paul Karpowicz, President of the Meredith Broadcasting Group.

Oaks most recently served as Director of Engineering – Special Projects for LIN TV Corporation. He was responsible for digital TV transition and implemented a number of projects that improved efficiencies across the company. Oaks has been in the broadcasting business for nearly 30 years. His roles include Director of Engineering at WIVB-TV in Buffalo, NY, Chief Engineer at WAND-TV in Decatur, IL, and Assistant Chief Engineer at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, IN.
